Spectacular Pinhook Winner Tops Inglis Easter at $1.8Million

April 4, 2023

The top lot for the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale arrived late on Tuesday when Silverdale Farm’s stunning half-sister by The Autumn Sun to Group I ATC Golden Rose winner In The Congo sold for $1.8million.

The filly was a wildly successful pinhook having been bought for $600,000 by Silverdale Farm/ Shrone Bloodstock for $600,000 at the Magic Millions National Weanling Sale from the Newhaven Park draft where she was the third highest priced horse of that sale.

She was bought by Arrowfield  Pastoral / Hermitage Thoroughbreds which only seems fitting given Arrowfield Stud stand The Autumn Sun and Hermitage Thoroughbreds raced the champion son of Redoute’s Choice.

She obviously set a new record for her sire, whose oldest progeny are two year-olds highlighted by his classy  filly Autumn Ballet, who runs in the $1million Group II ATC Percy Sykes Stakes this Saturday.

The Champion Sprinter in South Africa in 2014, Via Africa lost a Snitzel foal last year and is now back in foal to the sire of her Group I winner In the Congo.
